It’s all a little bit giddy at Standard Issue HQ and not because we’ve eaten too much sugar. Well, not only because we’ve eaten too much sugar. Our no-bullshit magazine has been nominated for its first award: we’re up for the book and publishing gong in this year’s Chortle awards.

“I’m absolutely thrilled that we’ve been nominated for a Chortle award,” says founder Sarah Millican. “The team and the contributors work incredibly hard and this is an excellent pat on the back. Properly blown away by the nomination. And would obviously love to win.”

The winners are all chosen by the public – and that’s where you come in. Please take two minutes to cast your vote in our favour, here: Chortle Awards.

Our admin queen Kiri Pritchard-McLean is up for best compere and other Standard Issue contributors are on the list too: Pippa Evans, Zoe Lyons, Felicity Ward, Laura Lexx, Ruth Bratt/Lucy Trodd/Pippa Evans in Showstopper!, Bryony Kimmings and Katherine Ryan.

We’re really proud that we have so many smart, brilliant and funny women writing for Standard Issue, and we noticed pretty sharpish what a bunch of smashers Standard Issue readers are, too – and you’re why we’re here. Bagging this award would be a smashing feather in our collective cap. Please vote.
