Recap: Strictly Come Dancing Semi-Finals Live Blog

It’s Semi-Finals week in the Strictly ballroom and our very own Sarah Millican live blogged her fingertips raw on a rare night off from her tour. You can relive her musings on all the dancefloor doings here.

Following the razzle dazzle of Musicals Week, which ultimately saw the curtain come down on Helen George’s Strictly CV, the five remaining couples were all revved up for the semi-finals. Alongside week one and the week before Blackpool, this was another spitting distance situation. Who wants to miss the final when it’s so close, Bob Carolgees’ furry best mate could hit it.

On Saturday night, Anita and Gleb, Georgia and Giovanni, Jay and Aliona, Katie and Anton and Kellie and Kevin had two dances each with which to impress the judges and the millions watching in their jammies.

There was a Salsa, a Foxtrot, two Viennese Waltzes, a Cha Cha, two Charlestons, a Waltz, an American Smooth and a Rumba for everyone to enjoy (or not, as the case may be), set to a soundtrack including Eva Cassidy’s Songbird, The Corrs’ Runaway, Gloria Gaynor’s I Will Survive and Frank Sinatra’s New York, New York.

Our glorious founder, Sarah Millican was at home on a Saturday night for the first time in yonks, and live blogged every step from her sofa.
