Bored on various interminable train journeys, Rose Biggin started making lists, taking their photo and posting them on Twitter. She’s also a damn good pole dancer. This list is inspired by her latest show, BADASS GRAMMAR: A Pole/Guitar Composition in Exploded View.
BADASS GRAMMAR: A Pole/Guitar Composition in Exploded View is a collaboration between my theatre performer and pole dancer self and Keir Cooper, a guitarist and general awesome feminist ally. The show explores our disciplines in relation to feminism, respectability politics, general mischief and stuff we like, against an industrial alt-rock guitar score, big dancing, and contributions from awesome women who have provided specially written musical material.
Here’s a list of things I’ve learned from pole dancing.
BADASS GRAMMAR: A Pole/Guitar Composition in Exploded View is on at The Yard Theatre, London, today to 4 June. Learn more about the show here.
